With the regained spatial height after completing the foundation work, ceiling-type concealed air conditioning units and dehumidification equipment were installed to effectively regulate the indoor air and humidity quality. In the public area, the designer introduced the beautiful scenery of Taipei 101 into the interior of the building. The living space is separated from the hustle and bustle of the city, creating a relaxed and natural atmosphere for the homeowners to completely relax, share time with their families, and enjoy a blissful home life.
The design team faced challenges with the restrictive ceiling height, but after demolishing the interior, they discovered original floor tiles that were repeatedly covered over. The foundation work was redone and strengthened, and leakproofing and waterproofing measures were implemented. The use of materials and equipment for moisture resistance and dehumidification was necessary due to the dampness of the environment.
The project is a 106 square meter residential space located in Taipei, Taiwan. The male homeowner works in the technology industry while the female homeowner works in the banking industry. The interior space is designed to cater to the dynamic function and style of the woman's needs. Storage spaces are concealed, and a separate dressing room was designed to create a relaxed and burden-free image. The original three-bedroom space was redesigned into a layout of 2 bedrooms, 1 living room, 1 dining room, a dressing room, and 2 bathrooms.
In the planning of the main living quarters, the designer emphasized the dialogue between light and shadows and the dynamics of life. A large-scale main wall with continuous windows was utilized to introduce outdoor city scenery and create a sense of spaciousness. The dining room features a faux-stone melamine board panel and a concealed doorway. The kitchen is separated by an open bar, maintaining the open expression of the dining and kitchen space.
The design prioritized energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. LED lighting was used throughout the residence, and natural solid wood materials, low formaldehyde system panels, and environmentally friendly emulsion paints were chosen to ensure a healthy and safe living environment. The attention to detail and mastery of materials, proportion, and color create a comfortable and wonderful living experience for the residents.
The design of Elegant Living showcases a healing and reverent approach to design, emphasizing the five senses. The integration of the expansive night view of Taipei 101 into the interior adds a touch of grandeur. This design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2023 for its well-designed, practical, and innovative characteristics that meet professional and industrial requirements.
